Tommie Lee Dean

June 28, 1946 ~ May 30, 2018 (age 71)

Tommie Lee Dean, 71, of Burlington, died at 7:50 Am Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at The Madison in Fort Madison.

Born June 28, 1946, in Marks, MS, he was the son of Alex and Elnora Wilson Dean. 

Tommie worked at Burlington Northern Santa Fe for 36 years.

He attended Union Baptist Church Full Gospel Fellowship. Tommie enjoyed fishing and he loved listening to Jazz and Blues. He also loved cooking, especially ribs and fish. 

Survivors include his daughters, Connie E. Dean of Olathe, KS, Cynthia Dean-Meisner of Burlington, Sheila Dean of Mempis, TN, Niki (Bruce) Dean-Palmer of Folsom, CA; his grandchildren, Halima Meisner, Christina Hinderson; two sisters, Willa Mae Hill of Mempis, TN, Connie Dean of Dallas, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Sarah Belle Brown, Jeannette Booker, Marilyn Dean, Elnora Lewis and Irene Bernard; and two brothers, William and Alexander Dean.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.

The memorial service for Mr. Dean will be 10:00 AM Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Lawrence L. Manson officiating.  

A memorial has been established.
