Carrol E. Schwarm, 84, of Burlington, passed into heaven at 8:00 AM Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington. Carrol's family would like to thank the Klein Center for all the wonderful care they provided.
Born December 26, 1935, in St. Peter, IL, he was the son of Ivan Charles and Irene Jasper Schwarm. On May 5, 1957, he married Joanne Marie Johnson in Burlington.
He graduated in 1954 from Burlington High School.
Carrol was the Division Manager for Mid-Continent Bottlers for 30 years. He was a great manager and inspired those who worked for him.
He attended Bethany Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, yard work, mushroom hunting, dancing and attending music events that his son, David, was playing at. He enjoyed spending time at Lake of the Ozarks and visiting friends and family in Colorado.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne of Burlington; two sons, David Schwarm of Burlington and Ted (Jill) Schwarm of Cedar Falls, IA; two daughters, Debra (Perry) Allen of Denver, CO, and Karen (Kevin) Russell of Burlington; six grandchildren; one brother, Robert "Bob" (Judy) Schwarm of Bettendorf; one sister, Faye (Don) Spann of Burns, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Glen Schwarm.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The memorial service for Mr. Schwarm will be 3:00 PM Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Hermansen and Rev. Shane McCampbell officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Perry Allen, Jim Decker, Larry Sampson, Bob Schwarm, Richard Smith and Don Spann.
A memorial has been established for the Carrol Schwarm Memorial Fund that will be used for the care of the Old Loogootee Cemetery.
