Nathan "Nate" A. Schroeder

April 10, 2000 ~ September 23, 2018 (age 18)

Nathan A. "Nate" Schroeder, 18, of West Burlington, died at 8:37 am Sunday, September 23, 2018, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born April 10, 2000, in Burlington, he was the son of Ronald Lee and Heidi  Jedlicka Schroeder.

He was a student at West Burlington schools. He was enrolled at Simpson College and had a full-ride scholarship for medical school. He worked as a lifeguard at the West Burlington pool in the summers. He enjoyed taking walks to Crapo Park and hanging out with friends. Nate had a passion for tattoos, animals, flowers, and clothing, particularly GQ clothing. He was dedicated to his appearance and working out, and did it daily. He was also a prankster , and incredibly funny. He touched many lives in his short life and always tried to put a light into the lives of others and show the good in the world. 

Survivors include mother, Heidi Schroeder of West Burlington, one brother, Gradin Schroeder of West Burlington, one half-sister, Christina (Vincent) Villont of Burlington, one half-brother, Austin Nash of Bloomington, IL; two nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald. 

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 5:00PM, Thursday, October 4, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Mr. Schroeder will be 5:00PM, Thursday, October 4, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

A memorial has been established for the Iowa branch of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
