William E. Black , 62, of Burlington, died at 8:30 AM Sunday, August 6, 2017, at his home in Burlington.
Born November 12, 1954, in Los Angeles, CA, he was the son of Wesley and Phyllis Morisky Black. In 1972, he married Joni Luan Gesling in California.
He graduated from Lee Vining High School in California.
He was a U.S. Army Reserve veteran, serving from 1976 to 1982.
William received the Junior Award from the Los Angeles Fire Department. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. William enjoyed motorcycles, three-wheelers and camping. He enjoyed doing things with family and having fun watching football with his sons.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Willy Black and Wesley Black both of Burlington; one grandchild, Shyanne Black, and one step-grandchild, Kendra Hawthorn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece.
The funeral service for Mr. Black will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Chaplain Randy Gearhart officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
A memorial has been established.
