Stanley R. Black, 64, of Burlington, died at 11:59 AM Sunday, December 11, 2016, at his home.
Born January 12, 1952, in Burlington, IA, he was the son of George William and Vola Ruth Hatton Black. On July 24, 1992, he married Cheryl Arlene Hunt in Burlington, IA.
Stan was a baker for 30 years at the Mississippi Bakery.
He was a 1971 graduate of Burlington High School.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He enjoyed hunting and was a loyal Seattle Seahawks fan.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Lucas Berry of OR; one step-son, Terry (Denise) Messer of Argyle; one daughter, Amanda (Ezra) of OR; one step-daughter, Sara (Steve) Gower of Seattle, WA; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; three sisters, Dana (Mark) Ballinger of Washington, IL, Cheryl (Al Krug) Black of Eugene, OR, Georgia (Saul Lubaroff) Black of Iowa City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home. Full military honors will be rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard at 6:30 PM. The family request that you dress in casual attire.
