Fay Franklin Russell, 71, of Biggsville, IL, died at 11:45 AM Saturday, May 13, 2017, at his home.
Born in 1945, in LaHarpe, IL, he was the son of Delmar B. and Lois Jean Burkhart Russell. On August 22, 1964, he married Suzanne Kay Albin in Biggsville.
Fay was a farmer and loved his work. Especially working with his brothers everyday.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and hunting for arrowheads. He collected coins, toy tractors, duck calls and decoys, and many antiques. He also loved to give RTV and tractor rides to his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife; his children, Renee (Norman) Sills of Burlington, Gary (Terri) Russell of Biggsville, Jennifer (Tim) Collier of Humble, TX, Julie (Jeff) Meyer of Stronghurst, and Joni (Chris) Gatch of Weatherford, TX; two brothers, Larry (Pat) Russell of Gladstone, Gail (Diana) Russell of Biggsville; four sisters, Delma (Nick) Plackett of Galesburg, Nancy (Larry) Gapen of Carmen, Janet (Lloyd) Jacobs of New London, Harriet Russell of Stronghurst; 10 grandchildren, Josh, Amanda, Ryan, Austin, Chloe, Taryn, Trey, Jenner, Tegen, Kyle; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 21, 2017 with the family to receive friends at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
A celebration of life for Mr. Russell will be 2:00 PM Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Dean Graber officiating. A continued celebration of life will be held at the Carthage Lake Club in Carman, IL, following the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Henderson County Library, and the West Central High School Agricultural Department.
