Adam Thielen

Adam graduated from Burlington Notre Dame High School. Following a few classes at Southeastern Community College he graduated from Carl Sandburg College of Mortuary Science in Galesburg, IL. Adam is an Iowa and Illinois Licensed Funeral Director. He is a member of SS. John & Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Council No. 568, 4th Degree Member of the Mackin Assembly, Coordinator of the Black Knights volunteer pallbearers group, member of Burlington Golf Club, Burlington Elks Lodge #84, Master Mason with the Des Moines Lodge, No.1, Burlington/West Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce, Iowa Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association. Adam is the father of two daughters, Julia Catherine and Claire Elizabeth and one son, Paul Jonathan who was born January 13, 2014. He is an avid golfer, a longtime sufferer of the Chicago Cubs, enjoys watching movies, and playing with their Italian Greyhound "Frankie." He was recently honored by the Burlington/West Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce as their 2009 Business Person of the Year.

Theresa Thielen

Theresa graduated from Burlington High School and attended Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant. She graduated from Carl Sandburg College of Mortuary Science in Galesburg, IL. Theresa is an Iowa Licensed Funeral Director and has an Iowa Insurance Producer's License. She is a member of SS. John & Paul Catholic Church, Chapter NI of PEO, Rotary, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary Council No. 568, Burlington/West Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce, Iowa Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association. Theresa is the mother of two daughters, Julia Catherine and Claire Elizabeth and one son, Paul Jonathan who was born January 13, 2014.

Whitney Hollenbaugh

Whitney graduated from Wapello High School. She graduated from Carl Sandburg College of Mortuary Science in Galesburg, IL., before continuing her education at the University of Iowa where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Arts with a major in Psychology. Whitney has been serving the community of Burlington as a funeral director for 12 years. She is originally from Wapello and now resides in Burlington with her husband, Tony, and their sons, Cal and Pete. Outside of work her biggest enjoyment is being a mommy and spending time with her family. She also enjoys shopping and scrapbooking.

Cody graduated from Albia High School. He graduated from Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa before finishing with a degree in Mortuary Science from Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny. He's a third degree member of Knights of Columbus. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching sports, golfing, and playing basketball.

Charles Ervin

Charles Ervin has helped thousands people in the Burlington area plan their own or a relative's funeral during the past 18 years. A long-time Burlington resident, he is the father of two sons, Ryan and Zachory. Charlie enjoys being creative by making commercial art, playing the guitar and piano, and he also holds a degree in Shaka-Kempo Martial Arts. He believes that preplanning is one of the most thoughtful gifts you can leave your family. Charles is a welcomed presence at Thielen Funeral Home as he assists many families in completing their funeral arrangements before the need arises.

Richard Hagemeier

Richard graduated from Burlington High School. He served in the Korean Conflict. He had worked for I.R.C. Resister Inc. for 15 years. He retired from Iowa Southern Utilities in 1996. He married Janet Nafziger and they have three children. He belongs to First United Church of Christ. Richard is an avid golfer and enjoys working in his yard.

Joe Stevens

Joe graduated from Burlington Notre Dame High School. He married Barb Wade in 1972 and they have 5 children. He retired from the Case Corporation after 30 years. Joe has been very active with the organizations of his church, S.S. John & Paul’s Parish. Not only working, but helping to run St. John’s Bingo off and on for over 15 years, was a member of St. John’s Parish Council for 9 years. Helped organize the Regional Parish Council was their 1st President. Joe has always been involved in the Notre Dame School System, where his children graduated from. He was a member of the Home & School Association, organized the groundbreaking ceremonies for the new Elementary School, and was a member of the Notre Dame Music Boosters for 19 years. He also served on Notre Dame’s God’s Portion Day Auction Committee for 14 years. Joe enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends, enjoys the Arts and plays golf.
